The curious case of the revoke in dummy
North was declarer in 2S.
East led the heart Ace.
South displayed dummy with the heart seven hidden beneath the king of clubs, and said "I have no hearts".
Declarer "ruffed " the AH lead in dummy.
Later during the play West noticed there was a card underneath dummy's KC , Which was revealed to be the seven of hearts.
East called the director.
The director said that East and South were equally at fault for not counting dummy's cards and that play should just carry on. No adjustment to the result was made.
Am I right in thinking the director achieved the right result for the wrong reason ?

I think your last bit is probably right
I don't regard East-West as being in any way at fault
Law 9 says a player may draw attention to an irregularity
and in the introduction "may" means failure to do so is not wrongLaw 12B requires the result to be adjusted to the likely result had the infraction not occurred
It seems likely EW would still have made a heart trick so, in that case, no adjustment.

There is no automaic trick adjustment for a revoke by dummy. If the defending side think dummy's revoke has harmed them they may ask the director for an adjusted score, which should be given if the doirector agrees
