Website improvements

Over the last 12 months, NZB has been working on major changes to our site.

It has been a work in progress and still is.  We know it is not perfect and there are still things we want to improve, but recently we addressed some issues.  We appreciate all feedback received to date and welcome comments and ideas at any time in the future.  Just email Alister Stuck our Secretary or myself

So what have we done ?

  1. Added a "Forgot password" option on the login page

If you forget your password, there is now an option on the login page that you can select. This will send an email to you, allowing you to login in and change your reset your password.

  1. Changed the email confirming your registration

Many were naturally concerned that when you received your confirmation email, your password was visible in the email.  This was not ideal and has now been fixed.  Now when you register, the email confirmation will display a link for you to login and confirm your password. I am sure you will agree this is a major improvement and apologies for not resolving this sooner.

  1. Remove the need to register to view Masterpoints

We have now removed the need to be registered when viewing Masterpoints.  This solves the problem of clubs having to use someone’s personal login details to view Masterpoints and members on a club computer.

  1. Registrations

Players still must still register to enter Congress online, contribute to forums and receive emails notifications of news items.

NB: If you register and then go to your personal page, tick “Important News” and “News” in the Subscriptions.  This will enable you to receive an email around 5pm every day notifying you of the news items that were posted in the previous 24 hours. The email notification states the topic and has a link to the item. You may find this a great way to keep up with the latest news. Richard Solomon has been posting a lot of great items on the Home page in the last few months.  Take your tablet to bed at night and read them instead of a book.  You won’t be disappointed !

  1. Outstanding Masterpoints

As you are probably aware, Alister posts a notice on the website for tournaments that he has not received Masterpoints for.  Some players were not aware Alister did this and others did not know where to find the information.  We now have two links to this information; one under Masterpoints and the other under Tournaments.  You may find this useful when looking at your Masterpoints and wonder why some events do not appear.  Before emailing Alister, check to see if the event is on the outstanding list.

  1. Photos

We have refreshed the photos, but would like some more from around the country, so if you have a suitable photo to display on the Home page, send them to us.  Not too big and close up shots of people are the best.

  1. Congress events

We received comments from people about the Congress events not being easy to see day by day.   We have now added a summary of all events and an approximate timetable.  Not only that, we have attached a printable copy that you may like to have on you during Congress.  Go to the Congress tab, hold the cursor on Congress events and you will see the link page to the summary.  In this summary, there is also a link to details of each event.  Enjoy !

More updates are planned and we will keep you posted.  If you have any comments, suggestions or other feedback, please do not hesitate to call or email us.

Regards

Karen Martelletti
