Are there any New Zealand Bridge players still in New Zealand? By a rough count, 177 of them
have crossed the Tasman to go to the Gold Coast Congress. By the end of Monday, the Pairs competitions had
been completed. There is a pretty good turn-out of locals too as these are the number of pairs contesting the various
events:

Here then are the best Kiwi results from these events. The unluckiest pair would have been Michael Cornell and
Ashley Bach in the Open Pairs. They won their direction in the first qualifying stage and came within 0.04% of winning the final.
